Temperature Information
Our sleeping bags are scientifically tested on the basis of the new European Sleeping Bag Standard EN 13537!
Since 2005 the new norm EN 13537 is used throughout Europe for the regulation of the warmth performance of sleeping bags of all brands. This also distinguishes between the different heat sensations of men and women.
Therefore our temperature data is given according to three values:
|
Comfort temperature (Women):
That is the lowest limit of the comfort range, to which an experienced sleeping bag user in a relaxed body position, for example lying on her back, will find her entire body to be at a thermal balance and still not freeze.
(in terms of a "standard-woman" under normal conditions)
Limit temperature (Men):
The lowest temperature limit, to which an experienced sleeping bag user in a curled-up body position will find his entire body to be at a thermal balance and still not freeze. (in terms of a "standard-man" under normal conditions)
Extreme Temperature:
The lowest extreme value of the temperature, at which one can count on feeling the cold and is exposed to the health risks of hypothermia. |
